Always right on cue...
Something To Crow About...
I've been wanting to do Collage Play With Crowabout for ages, and finally, here's my first piece for the group! You'll notice the stencil in the upper left hand corner. It's a plastic doily. I've been searching for these for almost a year now. I think I've been through bins in every thrift store in Arizona at least a dozen times, and just this weekend I found 17 cents worth: 6 identical Tupperware doilies like the one above, plus 2 others. You have no idea how happy this makes me, except of course for Kelly Kilmer, who knows exactly how happy I am to have found them! I've been snubbed by pseudo antique dealers who have told me "Of course we don't have them. Plastic doilies are things that people throw out". This has been confirmed by a real estate agent who told me she always tells her sellers to toss the things if they have them. I am indebted to the more-of-an-antique-than-a-thrift store that had the good sense to keep the things in a box where I could find them, and then to sell me the lot for 17 cents! The BEST lacy stencils on the planet!
So Sorry I'm late...
I have to apologize to the three people who have given me awards. Please be patient with me. I will post them. Promise. It may take just a little while, though. I'm overwhelmed with deadlines and crap. Yes, I meant to say that. There is more than enough crap in my life at the moment and I have a very low tolerance for it, so bear with me. After a little bit (or more) of the sometimes necessary house-cleaning of life, I'll be back on track and post those much appreciated awards! For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, and thankfully, that would be most of you, be glad. It means that you are not on my dustbin list.
And if that was too cryptic, then let me just tell you what I'm up to at the moment. Right now I'm:
Listening to the Spa channel on Sirius XM (trying to achieve balance through mind-numbing music)
And listening to my dog bark at ???
Getting read to head out to a bookstore
Thinking about more coffee and chocolate, and
Not at all ready for my daughter to be 18 tomorrow!
Have a great day, Everyone!
Woo hoo-hurray for plastic doilies!! LOOKS AWESOME!!!!!
Your kiddo is 18 tomorrow!?!? Happy Happy Birthday!!!!!! Our kiddos grow up too dang fast ;)
