. . .What It Would Be Like If You Could Wake Up In Your Dreams
How many times have you dreamt the perfect dream, only to wake up in the room where you fell asleep, wishing you could have spent just one more minute, one more hour, inside that glorious dream? Well, I still believe that waking life holds all the possibilities, but....if I could choose to wake up inside any dream of my choosing, I know which one I'd pick!
It would be the dream where everything I need is right there at my fingertips! In this dream, pens never run out of ink. The minute you need a specific paint or paper, it's in your studio right where you need it to be and not somewhere you'd have to search for it. Need a jar of clean water and some paper towels for paint? They're there. You don't even have to wish them into being because the dream anticipates your needs! Need a newer version of Photoshop? No problem. It's in the dream! Need a perfectly color calibrated monitor for artwork and a second monitor for your tool bar? There they are! What about professional printers? Markers, brushes.....you name it, everything is there when you need it, and put away when you don't.
In this dream it never occurs to me that this is something extraordinary. It is natural to the dream that things should be this way, and in the dream I am perfectly free to create perfectly! WOW! Now that's an art dream!
Since it's been almost a month since my last post, you probably think I've spent all this time away dreaming! Not so. In this time I have:
Filled two art journals with pages to artiphy my heart
Crafted fun little things to give and swap with friends
Read three novels, two books of short stories, and tons of poetry
Listened to everything from Bach to Erik Satie, and Pink Floyd to Fats Domino
Experienced temperatures from the high 40s to 101 degrees
Averaged 136 non-spam emails per day
Spent lots of time with my kids
And loved every minute of it
The only thing different is that I simply didn't blog. And I missed it. I have missed visiting everyone else's blogs even more. But it was a wonderful break, completely unplanned, and while I wouldn't want to make a habit of long absences, it was refreshing to know that I could blog if I wanted to, but I could take a break for as long as I wanted, also.
Have a wonderful day, Everyone! And happy May!
Your month sounds like a waking dream. But I sure missed you, and I would love to see some of your new art journal pages. What did you read? Summer vacation is almost here, and I could use some recommendaations. Welcome back!
Love,
Alberta

Barbara!! Welcome back! I have missed your blogging. Seems as if you spent your time away quite well. It would be good for all of us to do that from time to time, but it is hard to break away voluntarily!

Have missed you too, but being occupied with packing, moving and unpacking has made the days fly past. I love your art Barbara - you've inspired and encouraged me and I'm finally taking an online art class - Layer Love with Julie from Lost Luggage! I needed to learn more about paint techniques, so here starts my adventure!!
Will email you soon, so you can update your address book!!! xoxoxo
