Saturday's Workout is one of my favorite challenges because the theme is always a surprise and rarely predictable. This week the "raster" technique is what we were challenged to employ. I know that there is a corresponding term in English for this technique, but I'm not exactly sure what it is, for the simple reason that I'm not quite sure if the technique is to divide the paper into a grid using any means, or if the technique is to section the paper by making a background using the edge of a piece of paper as a screen as you sponge across the edge to define a pattern of lines, moving the paper around so that the lines criss-cross and meet at different angles. My interpretation was to do the latter.
I used the rough, spiral edge of a piece of sketchbook paper as my raster screen, sponging VersaMagic "night sky" and turquoise gem" inks over the edge and into the squares. I highlighted some of the areas using "night sky" with a Ranger cut-n-dry pen nib, using both the brush tip and the circle bottom to stamp with. I glued the piece of spiral edge across the with of the background and stamped the children's faces from Claudine Hellmuth's stamp cube. The frame is a stamp by Urban Lily, and the "happy birthday" is Brenda Walton clear stamp.
If I have misinterpreted the directions for this technique, I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know. Have a great day, Everyone!
Marvelous work.

I had the same predicament and by the time someone had told me what it meant, I was into other projects. I like the colours you have used here - lovely work as usual!
