This has been one of those days. You know, it's been the kind of day where everything appears to be working just right, and then you discover that everything you've done is off, just by a little.
This is my "Stars" piece for today's Arty Girlz challenge. It actually scanned better than it photographed, which means that I'm really off my digital photography game. And in real life, there's more of a transition from dark blue to turquoise, and the yellows have a bit of white in them. The gems sparkle like diamonds instead of looking like metallic brads. Oh well, this is as good as it gets for my blog photo, and I'm sure you get the idea. But the real problem came when I finished the piece and thought it looked just a little strange, but I couldn't think what was wrong.
When I have extra card stock, I often pre-cut ATC and Moo size pieces to use later. I grabbed a piece of pre-cut ATC size glossy card stock for this piece. It finally dawned on me - - after I was finished ( I guess I've been basking in too much starry moonlight. . .) - - that this was not the size of an ATC. The width was right, but it's a half inch too long. So rather than do it all over or change it into a skinny, I give you my finished piece as is: "Stars", the ATC-XL. Here in the USA we have the dubious distinction of "super-sizing everything, including ourselves, so I guess it was time for the extra-long version of ATC.
Have a great week, Everyone! Tomorrow or Thursday, I'm going to post a couple of freebies on my blog, so come back and help yourselves to the two vintage photos that I'll be uploading to share with you!
Fab work, the colours look wonderful and I love all the sequins and stars you have added. I bet it looks even more amazing in 'real' life
