"Triptych" is the theme for today's TMTA. Now this will be telling what's to come when I post my Gothic Arch, because I used the same material, aka: "trash", in making this triptych.
I am a collector of things I can use in my art, but I am not a pack rat. I love clean surfaces (although I don't have many in my work areas) and I love to throw things away. But, I do save anything that I think can be or will be of use. More on this subject when I finally post my arch, but for the time being, what I saved and ended up using in this piece is the acetate packaging that originally housed 3 storage containers filled with paper flowers from Making Memories. I knew this clear, heavy, acetate would be useful sooner or later, and it was about a month ago that I got the containers, so for me, that's sooner!
The images are dimensional stickers of an Anime character from the series "Final Fantasy", which my son reads. I bought the stickers at a comic book convention (Comicon), originally to use in making button dolls. I cut the acetate and painted the stippled border, placed the character stickers, added crowns, wing and flourish stickers from Vintage Transfers, used Making Memories eyelets with the MM eyelet setter and Tim Holtz distress hammer. The wire was also scrap, heavier gauge than what you get in the craft store. It came with an FTD flower arrangement.
I do have places to keep and store the junk supplies I save. What I don't separate and categorize, I put in a big box and close the lid so it's all out of sight when I'm not using it. Now off to finish my arch, if the paint is dry. . .
This is fantastic!!!
Great take on the theme.

Oh, now this is to die for! What a very sexy triptych - I'm a fan of these anime characters and he's beautiful. I must admit I keep acetate packaging too; and gift boxes and practically anything I think will come in handy... ah well, when you look at what we do with it, 'tis no surprise, eh? *g*

I am the same, I cannot throw anything, and isn't it a great feeling when your transform what other people consider as junk into art?
Beautiful work, Barbara!
