Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
For WS I decided to attempt another traditional card. Working with templates and traditional layouts is not what I usually do, since for me freedom of technique and subject comes so easy and is so relaxing. This is just a bit more like my work when I did some graphic design and newsletters and for an ad agency, so for me, it feels a little more like work when I do the structured pieces. But, I like them, and they don't flow as easily for me than the others, so I really could use the practice. I have so much admiration for those of you who do these regularly! Especially all the little elements you add and how varied the designs are when everyone is creating from the same sketch.
So, here's my valentine. A real greeting card, for once! And I got to use my brand new stamp: "Best Friends" from Rubber Stampede. I stamped and embossed the image with Tim Holtz "fired brick" distress ink and powder onto white cardstock, then layered the card with origami paper and ivory cardstock. The flowers and paper lace are from Making Memories and the word "Sweet" is a K&Company rub-on.
Enjoy your Valentine's Day, and be your own favorite Sweet Heart!

Cool funky card!I like to see untraditional colurs. I kept mine mainly black as it would do as a card for a mans birthday.

You are so prolific with your wonderful cards. I absolutely love the images on your Valentine. As well, thank you for sharing your journal page... I love looking at the plans and thought processes that working journal pages show about how ideas progress to form. Have a great weekend. PS... Happy Belated Valentines Day!!!

A very sweet card, but the choice of the distress ink keeps it from being too sweet. Excellent!
