Taking it further. . . I'm doing it! Along with all the other things planned for the new year. A new challenge each month (with a couple of options) throughout 2008 working from concept to resolved design in +/- 30 days with regular progress posts along the way.
First challenge, second option: I'm working Sharon's color scheme.
Now, I don't expect anyone to like the sketch. . .this sketch is a form of pictorial note-taking. Would you expect the penmanship of nuns (the kind that teach grade school and detain you for not closing your "e"s) from a grad student in a lecture class with the 200 word per minute professor? That's how fast some of these ideas come and go, so you get my drift. And don't worry if you can't decipher my annotations. I'm posting the page "as is" so you get an idea of how I work. . .sketching and annotating, ad infinitum throughout the process.
Next step is to get the colors in-hand. I'll be mixing, dyeing, printing, etc. Ferreting-out and conjuring, too. Collecting all; using some. Stand-by. . .there's more to come. . .
That looks like a fun challenge to do. Working with a set color scheme.
I love the sketch for your design, can't wait to see the finished project!

Barbara, your comment on my blog lead me to your blog. I haven't worked my way through the Take It Further list yet. Anyway, I love your design. It will be good to see how it turns out. The mixing, dyeing, printing, etc, sounds like its going to be lots of fun.

The sketch looks good to me. I also like to see how other people come up with ideas and work through their design. This challenge is great for getting to view other's work that you probably wouldn't have otherwise seen. Can't wait to see how your design turns out. Thanks for the comments on my blog!

Thanks for coming by and checking out what I am doing with the challenge. I am always impressed with people who dye their own fabric and will be checking back to see what you come up with. Have fun! Jane
