Communication: It's why we have words. But what happens when words are confused? So many languages, so many words. Mathematics can unify understanding on a rational level, but only music can penetrate the depths of reason, emotion and understanding on a universal level, for the trained and untrained, as well.
My collage, "Music Unites", done yesterday for Arty Girls challenge: "Words", combines hand-cut birds taken from Japanese, Greek, Swedish and French texts, with a snippet of sheet music from "O Tannenbaum", German, for Christmas.
And on another musical note, Remember the "Blinking Ballet" from my December 4 post? You might want to go back and take a look at this if you haven't seen it. Just remember to click "off" the widget on the sidebar so that the music that automatically plays on my blog isn't heard on top of it. Here's the exciting news: I got an e-mail from Anton Hecht, the guy who posted BB on YouTube, and he has directed a new musical project with the support of Newcastle Council (UK), and I'm going to feature this piece on my blog early in the new year! It's a really original and innovative short music video along the lines of the BB. So stop back often! This is a definite "must see" for lovers of all things artistic!
In the meantime, may your holidays and your lives be filled with the joy of music!
This is gorgeous I really love the hand cut birds absolutely FAB!
I'm off to check out the 'Blinking Ballet' but not before I wish you a very merry Christmas and Thanks for joining in with Arty Girlz :) xx
