"Fragrant Boots" is the title of my end-of-the-year piece for Wednesday Stamper. It wasn't an easy piece to photograph, so it might need some explanation. The aged photo with the burned edges is of a tribe of Indians, except for the two cowboys in the center. The text which reads, "The popularity they enjoyed with the tribe was attributed largely to the fragrance of their boots," is ink jet printed onto Swedish tracing paper. The stamp is "Flowers In Boots" by Comotion Rubber Stamps, Tucson, AZ. It took a few days to build up the texture. The substrate is fabric, with layers of acrylics, mediums, gesso, Loki paper, Swedish tracing paper and hand stitching on top.
It was a lot of fun for me to get back into the layers upon layers thing that has fallen by the wayside while I've been busy with other work. I *heart* layers, and mixing papers with fabrics in collage. Note to self: Must do more of this in the new year, and more drawing and painting, and all the other things I love!
Have a wonderful new year filled with all the things you love!
